Tom Waits - Falling Down
When you begin to identify with Tom Waits songs, it’s probably time to start sleeping with the lights on. Or maybe it’s when you’ve begun sleeping with the lights on that you know things have taken a turn for the Waitsian. There’s a pattern in the marble on the wall of the bathroom of the apartment I’ve been staying inside that’s shaped like a hooded ghoul drinking liquor from a paper bag, and my Google search for “Tom Waits night light” yielded zero goddamn results.
